Having the right mental attitude in sales


Sales are in many aspects very similar to sports, especially when it comes to mental issues. Winners in both endouvers share several similar characteristics including a positive mindset, determination and super confidence.

Like the famous boxing champ Muhammed Ali said it, “I’m not the greatest. I’m the double greatest. Not only do I knock ’em out, I pick the round. I’m the boldest, the prettiest, the most superior, most scientific, most skilfullest fighter in the ring today”.

You see it makes a tremendous difference wheter you think you can or cannot win, and Ali definatly thought he were going to win. If fact there was no shadow of a doubt in Ali’s mind before big matches, he just KNEW that he would succeed. And as history tells us, there has never been a better fighter before or after his time.

So how do YOU choose to feel before going out cold calling, or entering a sales meeting? I can guarantee that you are going to sell alot more it you feel on top of the world! What goes around in our heads most of the time is whats going to manifest in our actions. Therefore you should be super selective to what you focus on 24/7, and especially during your workday as a salesperson.

Here are some affirmations you may repeat to yourself to really turbocharge your confidence:

  • I am the best salesman in my company, and every day I getting even better!
  • My clients really likes me, and their absolutely right! It’s no wonder since I am such a positive person!
  • Because of my super confidence, nobody and nothing can stop me! I can sell almost everything to everybody.

I’m sure you can come up with some affirmations yourself too, the most important thing is that you are hammering your thoughts with them day and night. In the end they will become like reality to you.
